Dorothy Margaret (Miller) Puchowski, 90, a life-long resident of Northwest Indiana, passed away Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at Porter Regional Hospital.
Dorothy is survived by her five children: Carol Puchowski of Valparaiso, Janet Richmond of Portage, George Michael Puchowski , Gerald Puchowski and Dan Puchowski, all of Hobart; four grandchildren, Michelle (Moises) Vallejo of Sahuarita, AZ, Jennifer Richmond of DeMotte, Michael Puchowski and Kaytlin Puchowski of Crown Point; four great- grandchildren, Mya and Marley Vallejo of Sahuarita, AZ and Vincent and Jade McDonald of DeMotte; and nieces, nephews and other family members, including Joanne Toigo, Lloyd Purchatzke, Patricia L. Petersen and Rick Rayner. Preceded in death by her loving husband of 66 years, George, whom she married on Valentine's Day in 1942.
Dorothy will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great- grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Her family will treasure special memories of her. A funeral service will take place on Saturday, October 26, 2013, beginning with 11:30 a.m. prayers at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd, then processing for a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 p.m. at St. Bridget Catholic Church, 568 E. 2nd St., Hobart, IN. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery in Valparaiso.
