DOROTHY M. RUARK (nee EMERSON), age 91, Kerrville, Texas, passed away Friday, February 24, 2012 in Texas. Dorothy was a former longtime Hobart resident and member of the First Baptist Church of Hobart. She had been a member of the Hobart Historical Society and enjoyed oil painting, especially scenic paintings.
Dorothy is survived by her son, Kenneth (Jeannette) Ruark of Ingram, TX; step grandson, Major Jonathan Long and his wife, Melinda, step granddaughter, Jeanna Long, great grandchildren; Marcus and Alexia Long, brothers; Theodore Emerson and Robert Emerson, along with many nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Keith Ruark, and brothers: Donald Emerson, Jack Emerson and James Burke.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 1, 2012 at 1:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Road, Hobart with Pastor Richard Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville, Indiana.
