DOROTHY M. SOWLES, age 81, of Sturgis, MI, formerly of Hobart, passed away peacefully at home Friday, May 27, 2011. She was a lifetime Hobart resident until her retirement in 1993 to Sturgis, MI. Dorothy was a gym teacher at Ridgeview Elementary in Hobart for many years. She was also employed as a bank teller at Century Bank and Trust in Sturgis for 15 years. Dorothy enjoyed to go gambling at the boats with her girlfriends and she loved to spend time with her family. She will be remembered as a wonderful mother and grandmother who touched many lives.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Sharon (Gary) Kline of Sturgis, MI; son, Marty (Patti) Sowles of Hobart; grandchildren, Jeri (Jim) Miller, Danny Silich, Jennifer Silich, Adam Silich; great grandchildren, Hunter, Adam Jr., Lily, Madyson, Jerry and Jamie; brother, John (Georgia) Crowe of Valparaiso; other loving family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond; sons, Gary and Ray, Jr.; her parents.
A funeral service for Dorothy will be Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at 11:00 a.m., CST, at Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd., Hobart with Pastor Roger Moyer officiating.
