Dorothy Janette (nee Smith) Trimble, age 74, of Valparaiso, passed away Saturday July 15, 2017. She was born in Wayne County/ State Line Mississippi, on May 19, 1943 to the late Walter and Maggie Jane (nee Pritchett) Smith. Dorothy was a lifetime member of the United Pentecostal Church of Portage. Dorothy will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister aunt and friend.
Dorothy is survived by her loving husband, of 57 years, Richard E. Trimble Sr. of Valparaiso; two sons, Glenn S. (Marie) Trimble and Richard E. (Patricia) Trimble Jr ; two daughters, Melinda Talley and Mary (Dan) Bernier; three brothers, Raymond Carley (Sue), Paul Clinton (Mary Jane),Walter Jr. (Sally) Smith; four sisters, Betty Jane Whatley, Louise Loper, Alice Simpson and Bernice Hagan; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren and sister-in-law, Virgie Smith; numerous nieces and nephews and other loving family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Maggie Jane Smith; three brothers, Mack Chester, George Ray and infant brother Daniel Lee Smith.

A funeral service for Dorothy will take place Thursday, July 20, 2017 at 10:00 am directly at United Pentecostal Church of Portage, 2865 Willowdale Rd, Portage, Indiana 46368, with Rev. James Fielder officiating. Entombment will be at Graceland Memorial Gardens in Valparaiso. A visitation will be held Wednesday, July 19, 201 7 from 2:00 pm -8:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Avenue, Portage, Indiana 46368.
