Dorothy G. Wilcox, age 88, of Crown Point, passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2015. She was born on December 30, 1926 in Ipswich, South Dakota to the late Robert and Margaret Crompton. Born of strong stock and will, she was a community activist and a tireless volunteer. On March 26, 1946, she married the love of her life, Veryl L. Wilcox. Dorothy will always be remembered as a devoted wife and a loving mother and grandmother.

Dorothy is survived by her son, Veryl A. Wilcox; daughter, Penny L. Wright; brother, Merlin (Jean) Crompton; five grandchildren, Nathan Wright, Michelle Wilcox, Veryl J. Wilcox, Christine Wilcox, Margaret Wilcox; one great grandchild, Alexis Galinsky.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Margaret Crompton; her husband, Veryl L. Wilcox; brothers, Robert and Loren Crompton; sister, Betty Biegler.

A funeral service for Dorothy will take place Monday, April 6, 2015 at 6:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Winfield Chapel, 10909 Randolph Street, Winfield/Crown Point, Indiana 46307 with Pastor Frank Klobucar officiating. She will be laid to rest at Our Lady Queen of Peace Cemetery in Royal Palm Beach, Florida at a later date.
