Douglas K. Bryson, age 57, of Hobart, passed away Thursday, December 9, 2010 at St. Anthony Hospice in Crown Point. He had been a resident of Lake Station for the past 25 years formerly of Chicago, IL. He was a member of American Legion Post #100 in Lake Station and was a U.S. Army veteran. Doug loved NASCAR and was a Chicago Bears fan. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Grace (nee Frost); daughters, Angelia Storey and Tracy (David) Kerr-Frederick; grandchildren, Isabella, Dominic, Logan and Layla. He will be missed by his sister Ramona (Ron) Johnson: brothers, Dwayne (Laura) Bryson and Gregory (Amelia) Bryson; lifelong friends Frank and Evelyn Rodriquez, Sharon Higgins and a host of nieces, nephews, brother and sister-in-laws. He was preceded in death by parents Roy and Dorothy Bryson, infant sibling Terry Bryson and best friend Gary Higgins. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to be made to the American Cancer Society. Visitation will be held for Doug on Saturday, December 11, 2010 from 2-7 pm with an American Legion Service at 6:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Road, Hobart.
