DUANE E. ANDERSON, age 78, of Portage, went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 4, 2013. Duane had been a Portage resident since 1952 and was a US Army Veteran during the Korean War. He retired from US Steel Tube Works in 1982 and was a member of Bible Baptist Church.
He leaves to cherish his memory, wife, Linda Anderson, 2 sons, Timothy L. Peters of Laurel, IN, Roy A. Peters of Rushville, IN, daughter, Terry Lynn (John) Bockover of Laurel, IN, 7 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 2 brothers, James (Lois) Anderson and Willie Anderson, both of Portage, 4 sisters, Allie (Denver) Frazier of Portage, Vera Fields of Hamilton, OH, Mary "Jackie" (Harold) Smith of Richmond, KY and Imogene (Robert) Zerck of Maylo, WA and numerous nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Evan & Minnie Anderson, 1st wife, Daisy Mae in 1986, infant sister, Sally and daughter, Pam Clark.
Funeral services will be held Friday, February 8, 2013 at 11:00 am at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Avenue, Portage, with Pastor Don Good and Pastor Ronnie Cox officiating.
