Duane H. Mccord

Duane H. McCord, age 71, of Portage passed away Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at St. Mary Medical Center. He was born on August 14, 1949 in Nashville, Tennessee to George and Norma McCord. He retired from Youngstown Sheet and Tube, RCS and GE where he worked as an Engineer.  Duane was a very loving uncle, brother and friend and he will always be remembered for his benevolent nature. He was a genius when it came to electronics and enjoyed building computers.

He is survived by his sisters, Janice Gambill and Phyllis McCord; nieces, Jennifer McDaniel, Erika (Justin) Walters-Marr, Stacy (Glenn) Wells, Erin Tarnowski, Julie (Viktor) Braun; nephew, Justin (Crystal) Tarnowski; many loving great nieces, great nephews and other family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Norma McCord; and one great nephew, Dustin McDaniel.

A funeral service for Duane will take place at 2:00 pm on Monday, December 28, 2020 at Rees Funeral Home. Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart.
