Dwayne "DC" Childs age 66 of Hobart passed away on Thursday, April 11, 2013 in Hobart. He was born on June 10, 1946 to Earl and Margie Childs in Mellwood, Arkansas. Dwayne proudly served his country in the US Army in Vietnam. He retired from Local 374 as a boilermaker in 2001. Dwayne was a member of VFW Post #9323, American Legion Post #100 and the Hobart Eagles.
Dwayne is survived by his wife of 44 years, Sandy of Hobart; one son, Christopher of Hobart; one daughter, Corie (Jerry) Stuffle of Crown Point; 3 brothers, Earl (Susan) Childs of Hobart, Carl (Shirley) Childs of NC, Ronnie (Shelia) Childs of AR; two sisters, Nora Frias of IL and Doris (Gale) Dickson of AR; four grandchildren, Joshua and Jacob Stuffle , Jill Sherrard and Christopher Childs, Jr.
Dwayne was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Vicky, Becky and Sissy and one granddaughter Emma.
Visitation for Dwayne will be on Monday, April 15, 2013 from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd., Hobart, Indiana. There will be a 7:00 p.m. American Legion service.
