Earl C. Teller, age 70, a longtime resident of Lake Station, and more recently from Portage, passed away after a long and courageous battle with bladder cancer at the V.N.A. Horton Hospice Center in Valparaiso on Tuesday, January 24, 2012. He was born on June 10, 1941 in Gary, Indiana, the son of John and Edith Teller. Earl was married to Ethel Leitch on October 23, 1961, in Crown Point. Earl retired as a foreman for the Hydraulic Component Services in Hammond. His greatest joy was sports, fishing, and working in the yard.
Earl is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Ethel Teller, Portage, his daughter Twyla, 3 grandchildren, Matthew Teller, Jacob Wirick, and Lillian Wirick, brothers Gerald (Bonnie) Teller, Lake Village, and Donald (Nancy) Teller, Chesterton, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, and other loving family and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
