Earl Lloyd Trumbo

Earl Lloyd Trumbo, age 87, a longtime resident of Hobart, passed away on Sunday, April 22, 2012. He was born on April 3, 1925, the son of Earl and Grace Trumbo. Lloyd proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He then married Lorraine "Steve" Mitchell on July 26, 1947 in Hobart. Lloyd worked for over 36 years as an electrician at the Aetna Sub-Station for NIPSCO. Lloyd was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hobart, he enjoyed gardening, fishing, woodworking, and was a big sports fan. He was an avid fan of the Cubs, Bulls, and the New York Yankees.

Lloyd is survived by his loving family; wife Lorraine "Steve" Trumbo, Hobart, son Lloyd Edward (Pamela) Trumbo, Hobart, daughters; Diane Marie Hawkins, Salem, Oregon, Sandra Jean (Roger) Scott, Hackleburg, Alabama, and Linda Lee (Jim) Myers, Chesterton, grandchildren; Jennifer (Josh) Strausburg, Katrina (Bob) Lucas, Lloyd Daniel (Lauren) Trumbo, Heather Hawkins, Chris Hawkins, Jonathan Hawkins, Nicole (Ryan) Howe, and Tyler Shepherd, great-grandchildren, Madison, Joshua, Layla, Mackenna, Grayson, and Garrett, sister Margaret Burg, Minnesota, brother Gene (Pat) Trumbo, Merrillville, and other loving family and dear friends. Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Robert Trumbo.

A visitation for Lloyd Trumbo will be held from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, April 26, 2012 at Rees Funeral Home – Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, April 27, 2012, directly at the First Baptist Church of Hobart, 1 North Pennsylvania Street, Hobart, with Pastor Richard Brown, officiating.
