Earl "Shakey" W. Wright

Earl W. "Shakey" Wright, age 91, of Portage passed away Monday January 11, 2016 at the Horton VNA Hospice Center in Valparaiso. Shakey was born July 12, 1924 to Earnie and Minnie (Carr) Wright in Durbin, West Virginia. He was a retired Truck Driver/ Owner-Operator that drove for several trucking company. Earl was a WWII Air Force Veteran who served in the Pacific Theater. He enjoyed fishing and boating.

Earl is survived by his loving wife Helen of Portage, his son Doyle Glen (Kathy) Wright of Hobart, his daughter Linda (James) Beatty of New Jersey, his brother Charlie Fawley of Michigan, his sister Shirley Stewart of Maryland, two grandchildren Amber Ward and Jimmy Beatty, and his great grandson Michael Ward.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Louise Stewart.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am Thursday, January 14, 2016 at Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Road, Hobart, Indiana 46342 with Pastor Bob Burton officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2-6 pm at the Funeral Home.
