Earldeen "Deenie" Chentnik

Earldeen "Deenie" Chentnik (Peters), age 92 of Valparaiso passed away Thursday, October 14, 2021. She was born on November 30, 1928 in Midlothian, Illinois to the late Earl and Jennie Peters. On January 30, 1948 she married Joseph Chentnik in Gary, Indiana. Earldeen was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church and she dedicated her life to taking care of her family.

She is survived by her sons, Joseph E. (Mary) Chentnik, Michael (Debbie) Chentnik; daughters, Susan (Dennis) Alonzo, Kathleen (Jamie) Riddle, Pamela (Larry) Kandalec, Mary (Mark) Hardesty, Jane (Will) Cruz; 10 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; and two sisters, Juanita Peters and Iona Swanson. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Avalon Springs for the loving care they provided for their mother.

A funeral service for Earldeen will take place Saturday, October 23, 2021 at 1:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Ave., Portage with Rev. Paul Quanz officiating. She will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery in Portage. Visitation will be held Saturday from 11:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home.
