Edgar (Sonny) Alexander of Portage, Indiana

Age 73, passed away Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born August 3, 1944 in Gary, Indiana to the late Edgar and Joan (Bias) Alexander.  Edger retired from U.S. Steel and proudly served his country in the United States Navy. Edgar was a loving, strong husband and father, and a man among men, a great chef and was a wonderful provider.

He will be survived his loving wife, Bonnie (nee Lentner) Alexander; son, Richard Alexander; daughter, Linda (Richard) Burton; sister, Shirley Stark; five grandchildren, Christian, Jean-Luc, Ayriana, Allison and Sarah; eight great-grandchildren and other loving family members and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents and sister Barbara Jean Alexander.

The family suggests memorial contributions to be sent to Dunes Hospice, 4711 Evans Avenue, Valparaiso, Indiana. 46383 in Edgar Alexander's name.

Per Edgar's wishes, there will be a graveside service that will take place for family and friends Friday, April 6, 2018 2:00PM at Calvary Cemetery, 2701 Willowdale Road, Portage, Indiana 46368.
