Edna "Clara" (nee Taylor) Cook, age 89, of Portage, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on Wednesday, December 31, 2014. She was born on April 7, 1925 in Red Bay, Alabama to the late Thomas and Cora Taylor. On November 21, 1943, she married the love of her life, Samuel W. Cook.

Clara is survived by her daughter, Faye Aimutis of Portage; grandchildren, Michael Aimutis, Cassandra (Ken) Taylor, Debi Cook, Kim Cook, Samantha (Bradley) Brown and Jimmy (Laurie) Cook; 12 great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren; sisters, Louise Fagan of Trimble, TN, Christine Henson of Michie, TN.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Cora Taylor; husband, Samuel W. Cook; grandson, Scott Aimutis; son-in-law, Robert Aimutis; brothers Delbert, Dexter and Johnny Taylor;

A funeral service for Clara will take place on Monday, January 5, 2015 at 1:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Avenue, Portage with Rev. Jeremy Jones officiating. She will be laid to rest at Chapel Lawn Cemetery in Schererville. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 5, 2015 from 9:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home.
