Edna Mae Schultz-Hanna, age 90, of Hobart passed away Friday October 19, 2012 at the Horton VNA Hospice Center in Valparaiso, Indiana. She was born March 17, 1922 in Lowell, Indiana to the late William and Teresa (Genzler) Busse. She was a former employee of General Telephone Company, St. Mary's Hospital and Porter Memorial Hospital. She was a member of St. Bridget's Catholic Church, St. Anne's Confraternity of Christian Mothers, Northwest Indiana Retirees of Lake and Porter Counties and AARP.
Edna is survived by one son William (Jenny) Schultz of Valparaiso; four daughters Judith (Ronald) Myers of Portage, Sheila Autry of Michigan City, Adeline (Theodore) Kasperek of Hobe Sound, FL and Theresa Dale of LaPorte; one brother Harold (Violet) Busse of Crown Point; one sister Rosalee (Jerome) Dewes-Huffman; six grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
Edna was preceded in death by her husbands Melvin Raymond Schultz in 1973 and Calvin L. Hanna in 2008; her father and stepmother William and Rose Busse; her mother Teresa Busse; one brother Sylvester "Bud" Busse; two sisters Mildred Bohling and Sister Kevin (Esther) and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will begin Monday October 22, 2012 with 9:30 am Prayers at Rees Funeral Home 600 W. Old Ridge Road and continue with a 10:00 am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Bridget Catholic Church 568 E Second Street Hobart, IN 46342 with Father Domonic V. Bertino officiating. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery in Valparaiso. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 to 7:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home.
