EDWARD P. ANTON, age 64, of Portage, passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at the Horton VNA Hospice in Valparaiso. Ed was a lifelong Northwest Indiana resident who graduated from East Gary Edison High School in 1965. He was a US Army Veteran during the Vietnam War. Ed had been employed at US Steel as a crane operator for the past 6 years and formerly owned EPA - P.C. Services.
Ed is survived by his wife, Brenda, 2 sons, Anthony E. Anton of Elkhart, IN, Eric M. (Dawn) Anton of Lake Station, 6 grandchildren: Jessica Anton (Gary Tufaga) & Justin Anton; Ashlee & Anthony Anton, Jr.; and Stacy & Jerry McDaniel, 2 great grandchildren: Brayden & Isaiah, 2 sisters, Jacqueline Anton of Boulder, CO and Denise Anton-Smart (Warren Deppe) of Portage. His parents Edward D. Anton and Bernice Connors preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held Friday, October 7, 2011 at 11 am at Rees Funeral Home, Brady Chapel, 3781 Central Avenue, Lake Station, with Rev. Janice Murray officiating.
