Edward Eugene Boone, age 77 of Sarasota, Florida passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2012. He was born on May 11, 1934 in Gary, Indiana to the late Edward A. and Sophia Boone. He was a former Crown Point resident and former member of Our Lady of Consolation Catholic Church. He retired from U.S. Steel after 44 years of service. During his career he had achieved the highest level as a Millwright and he also had been trained in Non-Destructive testing. He loved cars all of his life and recently served as a Docent for the Sarasota Antique and Classic Car Museum. Edward served his country in the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his loving wife of over 49 years, Alice Boone (nee Del Castillo) of Sarasota, FL; 2 children, Kirk Edward (Renata) Boone of Oswego, IL; Yvonne (Brian) Lafary of Indianapolis, IN; 4 grandchildren, Collin and Landon Boone, and Max and Ava Lafary.
Funeral services are Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at 10 a.m. at Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart. Burial will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery in Hobart.
