Edward Farley, age 74, a resident of Portage, passed away on Monday, March 26, 2012. He was born on April 10, 1937 in Evarts, Kentucky the son of Pole Farley and Sallie (nee Cornett) Farley. Edward was a retired Locomotive Engineer at Inland Steel and was a United States Army Veteran. He was a loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle and a dear friend to all.
Edward is survived by his loving family, wife, Joyce (nee Cox) of Portage, son; Edward (Cheryl) Farley of Atlanta, Georgia, daughter; Sally (Aaron) Williams of Noblesville, Indiana, 5 grandchildren, many other loving family members and dear friends.
Edward is preceded in death by his parents, 5 brothers; Bill, Bob, Ross, Lonnie and Don, 3 sisters Betty Ann Farley, Bonnie Barnes and Tempie Jane Taylor.
Funeral services for Edward will be Friday, March 30,2012 at 11:00 am with Pastor John Allen officiating at Rees Funeral Home, Brady Chapel, 3781 Central Avenue, Lake Station Indiana, 46405.
Burial will take place at 2:00 pm at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, 27034 South Diagonal Road, Elwood, Illinois 60421.
Visitation will be held Thursday, March 29,2012 at Rees Brady Chapel from 2:00 pm to 8:00 p.m.
