Edward K. Fietz

Age 94, of Portage, passed away Monday, March 5, 2018 at Porter Regional Hospital in Valparaiso. Edward was born on August 2, 1923 in Chicago, Illinois to the late August "Gus" and Sarah (nee Brown) Fietz. Edward proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, great-great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.

He is survived by six children; Laureen Wozney of Wilmette, IL., Lynette Lucas of Hobart, LuAnn Parrish, Lisa Fietz, Leslie (Mark) Moats all of Portage, Edward Fietz II of Griffith; 12 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren and four ½ great-great grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Kreller of Tinley Park, IL; foster sister, Sharon Bourke of Park Ridge, IL and  many other loving family members and friends

He is preceded in death by his wife, Bernice Fietz; his daughter, Linda Miccolis and grandson, Danny Miccolis.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, March 10, 2018, 11 am Directly at Nativity of Our Savior Catholic Church, 2949 Willowcreek Road with Rev. Lourdu Pasala celebrating the Mass with additional visitation from 10 until time of Mass. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Portage. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 9, 2018 from 5:00 – 9:00 pm with a 5:00 pm Vigil service with Deacon Bob Bonta at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5241 Central Avenue, Portage (219) 762-3013
