Edward D. Howard, age 78, of Valparaiso, passed away at home on Saturday, May 16, 2020. He was born on April 8, 1942 in Rensselaer, Indiana to the late Edward Howard and Minnie Nuss. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army. On February 28, 1968, he married Erma (nee Brunker) Howard. Ed retired from US Steel where he worked as a crane operator. Ed enjoyed going to flea markets and watching old western films.  He liked classic cars and Harley Davidson Motorcycles. Above all, he was a family man and he cherished the time he spent with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Erma Howard; son, Edward (Sherry) Howard, Jr.; daughters, Christine (Bob Tipton) Howard, Kelly Howard; 6 grandchildren, Amanda, Megan, Emily, Tory, Dakota, Jordan; and 6 great grandchildren, Summer, Mason, Marshall, Gavin, Jaxon, Zeke  and Harley Mae.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Howard and Minnie Nuss; and his brother, Willard "Bud" Howard.
