EDWARD M. QUILLEN, age 85, of Portage, formerly of Hobart, passed away Sunday, April 20, 2014.  He was born on July 12, 1928 to the late Oliver and Sally Quillen.  Edward served his country in the United States Army and was a retiree of Ford Motor Co. after 35 years of service in Maintenance and Clean Up Department.  Edward was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ.  He will be remembered as a loving father and grandfather.

Edward is survived by his 2 sons, Jerald (Trish) Quillen  of Portage and Glenn (Patty) Quillen of Chesterton; 7 grandchildren, Juni Quillen, Shawn Quillen, Jerald Quillen, Jr.,  Allan Urbanczyk, Matthew Urbanczyk, Brandon Worley, and Crystal Worley; 1 sister, Freddie Honeycut of Big Stone Gap, VA;   many nieces, nephews and other loving family.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Delosa "Mirie" Quillen; daughter, Brenda Carrol; 3 brothers, Hazel, Arthur, and Clarence Quillen; 3 sisters, Margie Hall, Edith Perry, and Nellie Kerns.

A funeral service for Edward will be Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at 10:00 a.m.  at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Ave., Portage with Pastor Randy Westmoreland officiating.  Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery.
