Edwin Medina, Sr.

Edwin Medina, Sr, age 77, a longtime resident of Lake Station passed away on Monday, August 15, 2011. He was born on January 15, 1934 in Larez, Puerto Rico, the son of Jose and Josephina Medina. Edwin was a retired laborer for the E. J.& E. Railroad working at U.S. Steel. His great joy was playing the guitar and enjoyed painting and working on cars.

Edwin is survived by his loving family; sons Edwin Medina, Jr., Lake Station, and Benjamin (Lettey) Medina, Lake Station, daughters Milagro (Andrew) Bevil, Lake Station, and Nilsa (Andrew) Esfakis, Schererville, 8 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, his loyal companion and dog Bear, numerous nieces and nephews and other loving family and dear friends. Edwin was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Antonia Medina Mendez, his son Antonio Medina, 4 brothers, and 6 sisters.

A memorial service for Edwin Medina, Sr. will be held at 11:00 am, on Saturday, August 20, 2011, at the Central Avenue Church of God, 5120 Central Avenue, Portage. Memorials in Edwin's memory may be made to the Medina family.
