Edwin O'Neil Stout Sr.,age 90, of Portage passed away Saturday, May 17, 2014 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Systems Hospital in Matoon, Illinois. Edwin was a retired supervisor at Nipsco and proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II, he was a member of the American Legion and the VFW in Southern Indiana He will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, brother and friend.
Edwin is survived by his loving family; two sons, Edwin "Skip" (Deanna Schreiber) Stout Jr., Chuck (Denise) Stout; six grandchildren, Dr. Derek (Kim) Stout, Valerie (Craig) Krolik, Damen (Kelly Schroeder) Stout, Carrie (Ryan) Palmer, Kevin (Tiffany) Stout and David (Krystal Rauwerda) Stout; 10 great-grandchildren, special friend Lorraine Jones and many other loving family members and friends.
Edwin was preceded in death by his wife, Luella (nee Simonson) Stout; brother, Frank and sister, Anita.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, May 23, 2014 at 10 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 2447 Putnam St. Lake Station, In. 46405, with Rev. David W. Kime officiating, starting with 9:30 prayers at Rees Olson Chapel then proceeding to Church for Mass.
