Artis "Elaine" Fischer, age 69, of Hobart passed away Friday, April 24, 2015 surrounded by her family. She was born on September 14, 1945 to the late Clifford and Ola Mae Merry. On November 26, 1966 in Crown Point, Elaine married the love of his life, Leslie Fischer Jr. "Stumpy" in Crown Point. She was a past member of the Moose Lodge and a past secretary for Hobart Township Little League. She was a retired sales representative for Sears Roebucks and enjoyed spending time with her family, playing Bingo and going to the Casino.

Elaine is survived by her; son, Leslie Edward (Rachel) Fischer III of Porter; daughters, Tammy Fischer-Jarrell of Chesterton, Felicia (Michael) Fazekas of Crown Point; grandchildren, Michael, James , Kyle, Megan Fischer and Olivia Jarrell, numerous nieces, nephews and other loving family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie Fischer Jr. "Stumpy"; her parents; and her siblings, Everett Lee Merry, Leland A. Merry and Ernest Leo (Geneva) Merry.
A funeral service for Elaine will take place Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at 6:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Avenue, Portage, Indiana.
