Eldin "Bud" Wilding, age 71, of Portage, passed away October 14, 2016. Bud was born on October 18, 1944 to the late Eldin and Nora (nee Gadd) Wilding. He was a Vietnam veteran who proudly served his country in the United States Army. Bud was a very involved member of the American Legion, Post 260 and the VFW Post 7760, both in Portage. In his free time, Bud enjoyed fishing. He will be remembered as a loving grandfather, brother, and friend.

Bud is survived by his grandchildren, Rich Jania, Nathan Jania, Ashley Hilton, Courtney Hilton; great grandchildren, Landon, S.J., Rylan, Faithlyn; and sisters, Bonnie Marando, Pam Krebes.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Kay Wilding; son, Philip Wilding; and daughters, Sheri Jania, Ronda Hilton.

A funeral service for Bud, with Pastor Bob Burton officiating, will take place Thursday, October 20, 2016 at 10:00 am at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Avenue, Portage, IN 46368. Burial, with military honors, will follow at McCool Cemetery, Portage. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 from 2-8 pm at the funeral home.
