Eleanor was a very independent woman who loved spending time with her family, friends, and pets. She especially enjoyed the holidays, game nights, cooking Polish dishes and planning for events.
She held various careers: Sheet Tin Mill, Assessors office, Gary Transit City Bus Driver (first female driver), part-owner of Hair Affair Boutique. She proudly donated years of her time the Hobart VFW Auxiliary, Post 5365, with Distinction 4 years as District President, along with committee chairmanships & other electoral offices. She was a lifelong member of American Legion Auxiliary, unit 54 Hobart, making her a 55 + year member! Eleanor was also an active member of VFW, Post 9323 Lake Station and President of the NWI Retirees Association for 3 years.
She was extremely kind hearted and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Like her son Pete had said, "She enjoyed life to the fullest and never let grass grow under her feet." She was a beautiful woman inside and out. She was a wonderful example for us all to follow. God blessed our family with a wonderful person whom we are all so very proud of and she will be sadly missed. Until we meet again. Ja Ciebie Kocham.
