ELEANOR E. WHISENANT, age 85, of Lake Station, passed away Saturday, May 14, 2011. She was born March 3, 1926 in Elvins, Missouri to Ruth and Julius Wader. Eleanor was a resident of the area since 1989 returning from Missouri. She will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother.

Eleanor is survived by her 4 sons, David Brown of Hobart, Gary Brown of Portage, Brian Whisenant of Chesterton, Robert (Tammy) Whisenant of Lake Station; 7 grandchildren, Christopher, Eric, Jennifer, Amy, Jacob, Matthew, and Connie; 4 great grandchildren; 1 brother, 4 sisters, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband, Monroe P. Whisenant, her son, James Brown, and her parents.
