Elizabeth Christine Blackwell-Yarchan, age 27, of Gary passed away suddenly Tuesday January 20, 2015. Liz was born May 24, 1987 in Munster, Indiana to Richard T. Yarchan and Annette Blackwell. Liz loved her family dearly. She enjoyed reading and listening to music.

Liz is survived by her mother Annette Blackwell of Gary; her father Richard (Christine) Yarchan of Lake Station; her two children Jessie White, III and R.J. Blackwell-Yarchan both of Gary; her three sisters Rebecca (Jeremy) Silver and Sarah Blackwell-Yarchan both of Gary, and Anna Hololek of Hobart; her two brothers Nicholas Long-Hololek and Robert Yarchan-Hololek both of Hobart; her aunts and uncles Janet Toman, Mark (Nikki) Denning, Jim Speller and Leonard Derkowski; her six nieces and nephews Brianna, Kyle, Lila, Makayla, Gabe and Cayven; and many cousins and extended family.

Liz was preceded in death by her brother Richard J. Yarchan, her sister Jessica Blackwell, her grandmothers Gerry Denning and Gladys Speller, two aunts Lola Speller and Ann Derkowski.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am Monday January 26, 2015 at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 W. Old Ridge Road, Hobart, Indiana 46342. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 pm Sunday at the Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers memorial gifts are preferred to Janet Toman to benefit Liz's children.
