Elizabeth Maurine Depta

Elizabeth "Maurine" Depta, age 93, of Portage, passed away Sunday, February 5, 2017. She was born in Eldorado, IL on August 8, 1923 to the late William and Armaniler (nee Irvin) Cowsert. In her free time, Maurine enjoyed working in her flower garden. Most importantly, she enjoyed spending time with her family.

Maurine is survived by son, Larry (Bobbie) Seagraves; daughter, Carol (Donald) Hancock; grandchildren, Ronald (Laura) Segraves, Lynne Seagraves, Kristen (Matthew Van-Driver) Rojo, Julie (Scott) Hodges, Jessica Segraves; great grandchildren, Jordan, Tyler, and Tucker Segraves, Jakob and Edwin Rojo, Carter and Addison Hodges; step grandchildren, Dwayne, April, Kenny; and many step great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by husband, Robert Seagraves; late husband, Walter Depta; son, Charles Segraves; brothers, Artie Cowsert, David Cowsert, Elvis (Dot) Cowsert, Vernon (Mary) Cowsert, Gilbert Cowsert; sisters, Lucile (Raymond) McVay, Marge (Louren) Tarlton; and her parents.

Memorial contributions may be made, in Maurine's honor, to VNA Hospice, 2401 Valley Drive Valparaiso, IN 46383.

A funeral service for Maurine will take place Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at 1:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 W Old Ridge Road Hobart, IN 46319 with Pastor Bob Burton officiating.
