Elizabeth G. Martinez

ELIZABETH G. MARTINEZ, age 62, of Portage, passed away Friday, January 27, 2017 at St. Mary Medical Center. She was born on August 7, 1954 in Chicago, IL to the late Robert and Helen Gonzalez. Elizabeth had previously worked as a nurse and phlebotomist and was a member of Nativity of Our Savior Church. She was an animal lover and also enjoyed shopping and traveling. Elizabeth will be remembered as a selfless and giving woman who was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend.

She is survived by her husband, Rodolfo Martinez; daughter, Stacey (fiancé, Jamie Shay) Martinez; 2 sisters, Carol (Witold) Lesniewski and Debra (Eric) Peterson all of Portage; nephew, Robert Anderson; niece, Megan Woolsey.

Elizabeth was also preceded in death by her sister, Susan Woolsey.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00am on Friday, February 3, 2017 at St Francis Xavier Church, 2447 Putnam Street, Lake Station, Indiana.
