Elsie R. "Bit" Black

ELSIE R. "BIT" BLACK , age 83, of Lake Station, passed away Sunday, June 18, 2017 at Rush Presbyterian Hospital in Chicago. She was born on August 7, 1933 in Pell City, AL to the late Aubrey and Effie Mae Bradshaw. Elsie was a sales associate at Wal-Mart. Her grandkids and great grandkids were her world.

She is survived by her 5 children, Carolyn Mills, Lake Station, Billy (Mary) Black, Wheatfield, Ann Johnson, Indianapolis, Theresa (Larry) Miller, OK, and Debra (Kenny) Dennison, Portage; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister, Virginia (Charles) Hurst, Talladega, AL; many nieces, nephews and other loving family.

Elsie was preceded in death by her husband, Jasper; 2 sisters and 3 brothers.

Funeral services for Elsie will be Friday, June 23, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd., Hobart. Burial will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.
