ELSIE F. DHAEMERS, age 94, of Hobart, passed away peacefully Thursday, September 13, 2012. Elsie was born September 20, 1917 in Buckner, Illinois and had been a longtime Hobart resident. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Hobart and the Ladies Aid at church.
She was formerly active at the Bonner Senior Center in Portage and enjoyed traveling with her sister. Elsie was formerly employed at Kraft Glass, Campbell & Zimny Realty and retired from St. Mary Medical Center as a switchboard operator.
Elsie is survived by 2 sons, John (Suzette) Dhaemers, L. Keith (Terri) Dhaemers and daughter, Deborah (Keith) Brink, all of Valparaiso, 6 grandchildren: Jared (Kristen) Dhaemers, Ryan (Melanie) Dhaemers, Kristen Dhaemers, Chris (Tara) Dhaemers, Tara (Adam) Bergstedt and Joshua Brink, 7 great grandchildren and nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank J. Dhaemers, sister, Helen Overturf and 3 brothers, Edgar, Robert & John Stanley Mallory. Memorials are preferred to Trinity Lutheran Church.
Funeral services will be held Monday, September 17, 2012 at 10:00 am at Trinity Lutheran Church Chapel, 900 Luther Drive, Hobart, with Rev. Gary S. Nagy officiating. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery in Valparaiso, Indiana. Visitation will be Sunday from 2-8 pm at Rees Funeral Home, 600 W.
