Elsie Ann Siddall, age 91, of Portage, passed away Wednesday, February 12, 2014. She was born on March 8, 1922 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Frank and Anna Sumichrast. On May 24, 1944 Elsie married the love of her life, Joseph William Siddall. She was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church and spent time volunteering at St Mary's Medical Center. She enjoyed crocheting, taking walks and baking nut rolls but her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family. Elsie is survived by her children; Joann (Cletus) Epple, Barbara (David) Krawczyk, Steven (Cathy) Siddall, Mary (Julian) Newcomb, Loretta (Joseph) Eilers, Janie Siddall, Joe Ray Siddall, Ann Allendorf and Nora (Brian) Ehrhardt, grandchildren; Lisa, Jason, Jeffrey, Kevin, Janice, Heather, Jessica, John, Casey, Christine, Adam, Michelle, John, Jennifer, Chistopher and Zachary, great grandchildren; Skyler, Robbie, Noah, Nathan, Ava, Raegan, Zane, Logan, Lillian, Sebastian and Izebella and sister in law, Stella Sumichrast. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Anna Sumichrast, step mother, Anna Klimas-Sumichrast, husband, Joseph Wm. Siddall, brothers; Joseph and Frank Sumichrast and sister in law, Elaine Sumichrast. Memorial Contributions in Elsie's name may be made to Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church. Prayers will take place Saturday, February 15, 2014 at 9:15 a.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 356 West Seven Mile Road Valparaiso, Indiana with Father Paul Quanz officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.
