Emil Ray Cripe

Emil Ray Cripe, age 78, of Portage passed away Thursday April 23, 2026, at Miller’s Merry Manor in Portage. Emil was born March 31, 1948, in Gary, Indiana to the late Richard Allen and Hilda (Olsen) Cripe, Sr. Emil was a welder and machine operator who retired from The House of Fara, Inc. in LaPorte, Indiana. He enjoyed making Jewelry, and painting. He was a very talented guitar player and singer.

Emil is survived by his long-time companion, Mary Ann Lonergan; children, Jeanne Cripe of Portage, and Josh Cripe of Michigan; three grandchildren, Zie’ana Cripe, Zahara Byrd, and Jeanette Williams; two brothers, David Cripe, and Tim Cripe; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and two brothers, Mark Cripe and Rick Cripe.

Emil Wished to be cremated and there will be no attended services at this time.
