Emily "Miss Mordi" Mordi of Portage and formerly of Glen Park passed away Wednesday September 30, 2015. Emily was born January 28, 1919 in Gary, Indiana to the late Steven and Helen (Kozaric) Mordi. Emily was a Registered Nurse that retired from St. Mary Medical Center with fifty years of service. She was a lifelong member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church.

She is survived by two sisters Violet Perino of Valparaiso and Helen "Tommy" Johnson of Lake Station; Special Niece Kathy (Bob) Imhausen of Lake Station; many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces and great-great nephew that she loved as her own children.

Emily was preceded in death by her parents, one brother Steven Mordi, and two sisters Katherine Kopko and Anne Morris.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 am Monday October 5, 2015 at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 330 E. 45th Avenue, Gary, Indiana with Rev. Stephen Loncar officiating. Visitation will be from 9-10 am at the church. Entombment will follow mass at Calumet Park Mausoleum in Merrillville.
