IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Emily Rose
Soto
March 6, 2013 – November 14, 2022
Emily Soto, age 9, of Portage passed away on November 14, 2022. She was born on March 6, 2013 in Merrillville, Indiana.
Emily was a light in everyone's life, full of kindness, compassion, and joy. She brought happiness to everyone she knew. Her favorite color was green and her favorite number was 5. Emily was baptized December 5, 2021, and she loved the Lord with all her heart. Emily was athletic, loved sports, gymnastics, flipping and climbing. She was a "monkey". She enjoyed fishing, nature walks, exploring, skating, music, drawing, painting, latch hooking, dancing, and singing. She was very creative, loved school and hanging out with her Chess Club friends. She loved her family all her heart. Emily loved turtles and went nowhere without Takis. Emily loved the beach, fall was her favorite season and enjoyed the snow. Emily collected pop-its/slime and loved her best friends, Jazzy and Mavis. Emily was the one to always lend a helping hand and hold the door open for someone else. Her talent and gift were her voice and she wanted to use it to sing to God. She sang in the church choir and was a witness to her sister Anna announce her faith in God and be baptized. This was her one wish in life and her prayers were answered. Emily loved her pet cat Luna. Emily had a heart of gold. Emily was preceded in death by her grandmother Esther Espinosa.
