EMMA B. PRIDE, age 91, of Michigan City, passed away Saturday, January 7, 2012 at Life Care Center of the Willows in Michigan City. Emma was a Northwest Indiana resident since 1952 and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ. She loved children.
She is survived by 2 brothers, Huston (Sue) Jackson of Portage, Joe (Janet) Jackson of Mississippi, sister, Dorothy Purdue of Paris, TN, 2 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandson, Tyler and nieces & nephews. Emma was preceded in death by her husband, Luther Pride, infant daughter, Glenda Pride, daughter, Elease Helton, 5 sisters, Bertha, Louise, Rachael Partain, Fay Phillips and Mary Pride, who passed on January 8, 2012 and brother, James W. Jackson.
Funeral services will be held Monday, January 9, 2012 at 7:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Avenue, Portage, with Pastor Bob Burton officiating. Private burial will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens in Schererville, Indiana.
