Enriqueta Limón

Enriqueta Limón "Mami Rique", age 98, passed away Monday, February 21, 2022 surrounded by her loving family.  She was born in Yahualica, Jalisco, Mexico on July 15, 1923 to the late Cresencio Limon and Clemencia Esqueda.  She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. She was close to God and was devoted to the Virgin of Carmen.  She taught her family how to love God and everyone, and the importance of keeping her family together.  She enjoyed praying, singing, and will be remembered as a lovely mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother who always made sure everyone was fed.

Enriqueta is survived by her children, Olimpia, Tomas, Rosalba, Rigoberto, Maria of Los Angeles, Guadalupe, and Enriqueta Prieto; 41 grandchildren; 103 great grandchildren; and 49 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Apolonio Prieto; and her parents.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at 11:00 am with Rev. Jaime Perea officiating at St. Francis Xavier Church, 2447 Putnam St. Lake Station, IN 46405. Visitation will also take place Wednesday, February 23, 2022 from 3-7 pm at Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd. Hobart, IN 46342.  A prayer service will follow visitation on Wednesday beginning at 7:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel.  She will be laid to rest in Mexico.  For more information, please call 219-942-2109 or online at reesfuneralhomes.com.
