Eric Dewayne Creech, age 34, of Portage, passed away Sunday, September 25, 2016. He was born on March 23, 1982 in Valparaiso, Indiana to Alfred and Shelia Creech. Eric graduated from Portage High School in 2000 with a 4.0 GPA. He loved cars and made his living as a master auto mechanic. He was also employed as a coast to coast truck driver and saw all of the lower 48 states. In his free time, he enjoyed golfing and playing pool. Eric always wanted to help other people and was able to save the lives of six people with his gift of organ donation at the end of his life.

Eric is survived by his son, Xander Creech; father, Alfred Creech; brother, Anthony (Felicia) Creech; sister, Cassandra Creech; niece, Lea Creech; uncle, Charles Jones; aunts, Betty (Bryan) Gibson, Lillie Ellis; cousin, James Creech.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Shelia Creech in 2007.

A funeral service for Eric will take place Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at 7:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Avenue, Portage. Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial of cremains will take place at a later date at Evergreen Cemetery.
