Eric Matthew Haynes, 21, of Hobart passed away on August 27, 2023. Eric was born in Hobart on July 18, 2002, to his loving parents Billy Joe and Kelly Haynes of Valparaiso. He is the beloved youngest brother of Billy and David Haynes.

Eric is survived by parents: Bill and Kelly Haynes, brothers: Billy (Vanessa Kroledge) and David (Clarissa Miller) Haynes, grandparents: Bill and Mary Haynes, grandmother: Kyle Oros, as well as many special uncles, aunts, cousins, and second cousins. He was preceded in death by grandfather: John Oros, and grandmother: Cynthia Macomber.  Eric was also considered a member of the Gonzalez family. Caleb Gonzalez was his best friend, and to Elias, Caleb, Liz, Maddie and Julie, Eric was like a brother.

Eric enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He was free spirited and always ready to do something new. He liked taking long drives, driving in fast cars, adventuring, and playing video games. He found pleasure in antagonizing those he loved and will be remembered for being a jokester, and always trying to make everyone laugh. He wasn't afraid to go up to any stranger on the street and say hello. He will be remembered for his giving and tender heart. He was selfless, dependable, and compassionate.

Eric would take the shirt off his back to help others. Those he loved will remember the times he just popped in to visit and lend a helping hand. Eric will be missed tremendously by all who love him.

A Celebration of Eric's Life will be private.  Arrangements are entrusted to Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel
