Eric V. Wieneke

Eric V. Wieneke, age 45, of Hobart passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2024. He was born on March 4, 1979, in Hammond, Indiana. Eric was a family-oriented man and dedicated his time to his sons, his girlfriend, and her children. He had a heart of gold and would help anyone in need. He was a big football fan and enjoyed attending his son's football games. Eric formerly served as a volunteer fireman and raced cars at the Illiana Speedway.

He is survived by his sons, Chase and Travis Wieneke; his mother, Carrie (Steve) Martinez; father, Garry Wieneke; brother, Garry Wieneke, Jr.;  sisters, Stephanie Parks, and Carlie Martinez; nephew, Austen Parks; grandmother, Shirley Coughlin; uncle, Mark (Maria) Coughlin; girlfriend, Angie Baughman; Angie's daughters, Julie and Gabriel; and his ex-wife and friend, Kristy Wieneke.

Memorial visitation for Eric will be held Saturday, June 8, 2024, from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Road.
