On Sunday, July 21, 2024, Erika Suzanne Bishop transitioned from this earth to reunite with her daughter, Maya Karoline; and her mom, Kathlene "Kitty" Bishop-Truax and many others in heaven who love her dearly.

She is survived by her dad, Leonard Bishop; her other mom, Linda Bishop; her other dad, Ray Truax; her aunt, Mary Lynne Bishop; sister, Kelly Bishop Bohren; sister, Melissa Svihlik (Rob); brother, Lenny Bishop; her nephews and nieces, Anthony Bishop (Amber), Michael Bishop (Kassidy), Orion Bohren, Cormac Bohren, Alexis Svihlik, Hailee Svihlik; stepsisters, Lisa Martinez and Laura Guillen Sheets(Jason); her sister friend, Michelle Daniels; puppy-love, Daisy; and many loving cousins and great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded by her mother, Kitty Bishop-Truax; brother-in-law, Steve Bohren (Kelly); grandparents, Arthur & Glady (her buddy) Bishop and grandparents, Ray & JuneTucker.

Erika Graduated from Portage High School with the class of 1993 and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business with a specialization in Accounting from Kelley School of Business at Indiana University, Bloomington.  She worked as a Claims Supervisor for Progressive where she met many ladies whom she considered to be wonderful friends.

Erika will always be remembered as a strong-willed, resilient, beautiful, and intelligent woman. She had a wit and sarcastic humor that were unstoppable. She loved those closest to her fiercely and unconditionally and made the best glutinous and gluten-free cookies in the world. If you know, you know. Erika, otherwise known as "Cup Cup" to some, was loved and cared for by her family while she bravely battled cancer. Special thanks to all the kind souls at VNA Hospice in Valparaiso, Indiana, for the exceptional care, love and compassion provided to Erika and her family.

At Erika's request, a celebration of life will be held in lieu of services on September 7, 2024, at The Course at Aberdeen, 245 Tower Road, Valparaiso, IN 46385, from 1pm to 5pm.
