Ervin J. Granzow
Age 98, of Hobart, passed away Friday, February 27, 2015. Ervin was born November 17, 1916, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and has been a lifelong Hobart resident; he retired from U.S Steel in 1978 with 42 years of service. Ervin was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church of Portage. He will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He is survived by his three sons, Bruce (Sue) Granzow, James Granzow and Jeffery Granzow all of Hobart; three daughters, Judith Judge of Kouts, Linda Wilcox of Michigan City and Cynthia (John) Yzenas of Hobart; 13 grandchildren;13 great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; nieces and nephews and other loving family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife Jean C (nee Doolittle) Granzow; his parents, Fred and Louise (nee Buchfuehrer) Granzow; four brothers, Raymond, Robert "Fritz", Donald and George Granzow and sister, Flo Luck.
A private family service for Ervin will take place Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart, IN. He will be laid to rest at Graceland Cemetery in Valparaiso. Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.reesfuneralhomes.com.
