ESTHER F. MACDONALD, age 74, of Hobart, passed away Saturday, October 12, 2013 at VNA Hospice. She was born on August 23, 1939 to John and Minnie MacDonald. Esther was a lifelong area resident and a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Hobart. She was a 1957 graduate of Tolleston High School. Esther worked as a bookkeeper for Steelworkers Local 1014. She devoted her entire life to her children. She will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her son, Daniel W. MacDonald of Hobart; brothers, Archie (Joyce) MacDonald of Highland and John (Diane) MacDonald of Hobart; sister, Bonnie (Gerald) Vann of Hebron; many nieces, nephews, cousins and other family.

Esther was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Linda Marie MacDonald; and her parents, John and Minnie MacDonald.

Donations may be made to Grace Lutheran Church.

A funeral service for Esther will be Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 6240 Grand Blvd., Hobart, with Rev. Frederic Lams officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Services will conclude at the church.
