Obituary

Ethel M. Krohn, age 87, of Hobart passed away Saturday July 26, 2014 at Miller's Merry Manor in Portage. Ethel was born June 16, 1927 in Elyria, OH to the late Louis and Verna (Bodolay) Keleman. Ethel was a retired RN, trained at St Mary Mercy in Gary and was an OB nurse there for many years. She also worked in the offices of Drs. Jacob Pruitt and George Slama prior to retiring.

Ethel was preceded in death by her mother, Verna Bodolay Keleman, parents Louis and Elizabeth Keleman. Husband, Estill Krohn, brothers Daniel and Paul Keleman.

Survived by daughter Judy (Henry) Roberts, son David (Donna) McCall, and daughter Sarah (Norman) Philips. Seven grandsons, Steven (Dawn) Roberts, David Roberts, Matthew (Stephanie) McCall, Craig (Sarah) McCall, Jeffrey (Kayla) Philips, Christopher Philips, Brian Philips. Three great-grandsons, Ethan, Daniel, and Owen Roberts. Sisters Eloise (late Al) Sheranko, Gizella (Robert) Maris and Marianne (Gordon) Clark. Sisters-in-law, Joan (late Dan) Keleman, Carol (late Paul) Keleman, Martha (late Kenneth) Krohn and Marie (late Ted) Jacobs. Numerous nieces and nephews.

Special lifetime friends, Ruth Dean, Thelma Finney, Joan Molloy, Ginger Rudovich and Vivian Springer.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Portage Christian Church, where she was a member for many years, would be greatly appreciated.
Funeral services for Ethel will be conducted at 10 am Wednesday July 30, 2014 at the Portage Christian Church 5880 Evergreen Avenue Portage, IN 46368 with Pastor Josh Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Ridgelawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2-8 pm at Rees Funeral Home 600 W. Old Ridge Road Hobart, Indiana.
