Eugene S. Jurek

Eugene S. Jurek, age 90, a longtime Munster resident passed away Monday, November 14, 2016. He was born on July 4, 1926 to the late Frank and Selma Jurek. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He worked as an electrical engineer for Bartkus and Associates and for Process Design and Associates. Gene was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church. He enjoyed ship and airplane modeling, Polka dancing, Chicago White Sox baseball, Chicago Bears football, and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his daughter, Christine Jurek of Third Lake, IL; one sister, Doloris Lew of Crown Point, IN; and nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia M. Jurek.

There will be a funeral mass on Monday, November 21, 2016 at 10 a.m. at St. Thomas More, 8501 Calumet Ave., Munster with Rev. Michael J. Yadron officiating. There will be a procession to Holy Cross Cemetery for Interment of cremains. Visitation is Sunday, November 20, 2016 from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart.
