Eugene P. Krasoczka

Eugene P. Krasoczka, age 90, of Hobart passed away Monday August 4, 2025, at the St. Mary Medical Center. He was born February 20, 1935, in Gary, Indiana to the late Joseph and Angeline (Wisz) Krasoczka. Eugene worked eighteen years for US Steel as a Time Keeper in the Machine Shop, he was the owner of the Club-Bar in Hobart for twelve years, he owned and operated Flowerama in the Southlake Mall for several years, he worked at the Lake County Government Center in Crown Point for the Lake County Highway department and then Community Development Office until his retirement. He was a man that wore several hats and excelled with all of them. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Isaac Walton League, and the Hobart Democratic Precinct Organization, and the Silver Bells of PNA. Gene also loved watching and playing many kinds of sports. He was also a coach for the CYO for many years. He loved gardening with many overly ambitious ideas. Roses were his favorite flowers.

Eugene is survived by his children, Tony (Irene Vereb) Krasoczka, David Krasoczka, and Pamela Krasoczka; his grandchildren, Courtney (Jason) Quigg, George Krasoczka, and Michael Krasoczka; his great grandchildren, Caden, Tristan and Oaklyn; his brother Charles (Roberta) Mroczek; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; loving wife, Libby; son Brian Krasoczka; daughter-in-law Martha Krasoczka; a brother Edward Kray; and a sister, Eleanor Pall.

Visitation for Eugene will be held from 2:00 to 7:00 pm Wednesday August 13, 2025, at the Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel 600 West Old Ridge Road Hobart, Indiana 46342. A funeral service will be held at 5 pm at the funeral home with Rev. Lourdu Pasala Officiating. Cremation will follow.
