Eva Olagene Beal

Eva Olagene Beal, age 98, a resident of Portage passed away on Monday, July 25, 2011. She was born on July 9, 1913 in Crofton, Kentucky the daughter of Odie and Dora Dunning. Eva was married to Lilburn Clark, who preceded her in death, and then she married Roy C. Beal in 1991. Eva worked as a cook for the Corner Restaurant in Munster for over 15 years. Eva was a member of the Faith Mission Church where she loved to sing. She also enjoyed reading, especially her Bible, and she loved to cook.

Eva is survived by her loving family; husband Roy Beal, Portage, daughters Jonell (George) Hudson, Griffith, and Betty (Bert) Hudson, Venice, Florida, son John (Betty) Clark, Dyer, step-daughter Maryann (Kevin) Shufford, Gary, step-son Michael (Elana) Beal, Peoria, 5 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, sister Mary Alexander, and other loving family and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Lilburn Clark, her brother Raymond Dunning, and her sister Lois Alexander.

A visitation will be held from 9:00 am to 11:00 am on Thursday, July 28, 2011 directly at Faith Mission Church, 5093 Stone Avenue, Portage. A funeral service will follow at Faith Mission at 11:00 am with Pastors Minnie and Chuck Munsell, officiating. Burial will be at Chapel Lawn Cemetery in Schererville.
