Eva Cortazar, age 56 of Inverness, IL passed away Wednesday, September 22, 2010. She was born on November 28, 1953 in East Chicago, IN. She was a member of St Theresa's Church in Palatine, IL. Eva lived as a free spirit, loving all and she was loved by everyone.
Eva is survived by her father, Antonio A. Cortazar of Palatine, IL; 3 brothers, Edward Egipciaco of Mexico; Raymond (Theresa) Cortazar of Michigan; Rick Cortazar of Morganton, NC; 4 sisters, Theresa "Terri" (Charles) Hurst of Chesterton, IN; Margaret (Dr. Peter) Geittmann of Inverness, IL; Ida (Peter) Saims of Hobart, IN; Anita (Jack) Lathrop of Santa Clara, CA; 7 nieces and nephews, and 22 great nieces and great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Maria Teresa Cortazar.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Eva's memory may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Northeastern Illinois, 405 Lake Zurich Road, Barrington, IL 60010.
Funeral services are Monday, September 27, 2010 beginning with 9:30 prayers at Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart and proceeding to St. Bridget Church for a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian burial with Bishop Andrew McDonald and Rev. Dominic V. Bertino Concelebrating. Burial will follow at Calumet Park Cemetery. Visitation is Saturday, September 25, 2010 from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home Hobart Chapel.
